WF FUNGO JOINS ONSL

Wake Forest FUNGO, the official collegiate summer baseball team for the town of Wake Forest, is excited to announce that they are officially joining the Old North State League for the 2024 season. The team is looking forward to competing against other top-level teams in the league and showcasing their talent on the field.

Owner, Joe John, commented on the move by saying, “After going independent for a season, we are thrilled to join the Old North State League. We wanted to find a competitive League that values the player experience as much as FUNGO always has. This is an exciting time for FUNGO fans with the major upgrades at Flaherty Park combined with FUNGO joining ONSL which will bring highly talented teams to Wake Forest from towns in the Mountain, Piedmont and Coastal Regions of North Carolina including local rivals from Raleigh, Clayton, Reidsville, and Sanford. “

One of the most exciting aspects of the upcoming season will be the team's newly renovated ballpark, Flaherty Park, located in downtown Wake Forest. The team is thrilled to call this beautiful facility their new home field and can't wait to play in front of their fans. Wake Forest FUNGO is committed to providing a fun and affordable entertainment option for the entire community.

There are multiple ways to start supporting your hometown team now. Legacy Bricks are currently available on the team’s website and will be used to construct the new backstop wall. Season sponsorships can also be found on the site. www.wakeforestfungo.com

FUNGO also hosts the off-season development program (ODP) for the Town of Wake Forest which is an 8 week training program that runs through the winter. Information for that can be found by searching “ODP” on the town website. www.wakeforestnc.gov
